This is done at the same time as you are creating workload and/or work centre capacity.
The re-scheduling of manufacturing orders can be of interest when changes have been made to the work centre field that handles capacity or if changes have been made to the calendar that is connected to the work centre.
If re-scheduling of manufacturing order has been selected the re-scheduling is done in the same ways as when the manufacturing order was created, meaning if the order was scheduled backwards at creation the re-scheduling will be done on the same basis. If an order has been re-scheduled, the old and new planning dates will be printed on a re-schedule report.
Note: If the DC1 Manufacturing Finite Planning (MFP) functionality is activated in Work with companies and critical resources are used, it is not recommended to use this function for re-scheduling of manufacturing orders. See Re-schedule manufacturing orders with critical resources (finite capacity) for more information.
For more information about creation of workload or work centre capacity, see About workload handling for manufacturing orders and About work centres.
- Select the Work with reports/jobs – MFG orders menu item.
- You access Work with batch jobs. Select CALEND_CAP and click Submit job.
- You access Create work centre capacity. Complete the following fields:
- Create no of month
- Enter the number of months to be valid in the calendar capacity. The current month is the first month to be created.
- Recreate workload
- Indicate if workload for open manufacturing orders should be re-created. If the capacity has been changed workload will be created based on the new capacity but planned dates on operations and order header will only be updated for those orders that have been selected according to the selection value for re-schedule manufacturing orders.
- Recreate MRP workload
- Indicate if planned workload for MRP order proposals should be re-created. Only the proposals in the active version will be used for re-creation.
- Reschedule manuf ord
- Indicate if and how manufacturing orders should be re-scheduled by ticking one of the following: NO reschedule, All open orders or Only not started orders. For this task, tick All open orders.
- Force forward sched
- This field is only mandatory if Reschedule manuf ord is set to 2 (All open orders) or 3 (Only not started orders). Indicate if forward re-scheduling should be forced for all selected open manufacturing orders even if backward re-scheduling was originally planned.
- If you set this field to YES, the manufacturing orders will be re-scheduled based on the planned start date.
- If you set this field to NO, the re-scheduling of the manufacturing orders will be handled in the same way as at the order creation. For example, if an order was scheduled backwards at creation, the same type of re-scheduling will be applied here.
- Note: When the re-scheduling is completed, you can run the Re-plan sales orders routine in DC1 Distribution to perform an availability check on purchased components and sub-assembly items. New availability dates will be calculated for the items, and this will result in new completion and dispatch dates for the manufacturing and sales orders. See About re-planning sales orders for more information.
Tip: Use the selection fields to narrow down the selection of manufacturing orders to be re-scheduled.
Click OK to update the information. Exit the routine.
