This batch function automatically releases marked MRP order proposals. See Manually mark an MRP order proposal for release or Automatically mark MRP order proposals for release using batch job for information about how to mark order proposals for release.
When the manufacturing order is created, planned workload for the order proposal is immediately removed and replaced with manufacturing order workload.
Note: Manufacturing and purchase order proposals are released separately. The REL_MF.ORD batch job (accessed via Work with reports/jobs – MFG orders) is used for the release of manufacturing orders, and the REL_PU.ORD batch job (accessed via Work with reports/jobs – Purchase planning) is used for the release of purchase orders.
- Select the applicable menu item, i.e. Work with reports/jobs – MFG orders or Work with reports/jobs – Purchase planning.
- You access Work with batch jobs. Select the applicable job, i.e. REL_MF.ORD or REL_PU.ORD and click Submit job.
- You access MRP manufacturing order release or MRP purchase order release respectively. Complete the following fields:
- Planner
- Enter the planner interval (from-to). The system checks that the ending value is greater than or equal to the starting value. Leave this field blank if you want to include all values.
- Order type
- Enter the manufacturing or purchase order type to be used for all created orders. If no order type is specified for the job the order type will be retrieved from Work with DC1 user profiles.
Click OK to submit the job and update the information. Exit the routine.
All proposals that were release-marked have now been released and converted into manufacturing orders or purchase orders. A control list is printed displaying the created orders. The control list also displays error messages stating why certain orders have not been created.
