Caution: If you click OK/Enter without entering new values, you will erase all values on existing forecast details previously generated for the sales promotion.
The Actual % increase field is completely manually handled in this version of DC1. In order for the value in the field to be 100 percent accurate, you should manually check the actual outcome of the applied sales promotion by studying the last historic forecast period and then adjust the value in this field before inventory calculation is run for the next actual period.
How to adjust the forecast for only certain items
If you only want to adjust the forecast details for some of the items, select the applicable items on the Work with sales promotions, Forecast details header panel and click Change. Enter the new percentages for each of the items and click OK. The forecast adjustment will only be regenerated for these items. Click Refresh to view the update.
Conclusion
After the valid period for a sales promotion has ended, the actual outcome from the sales promotion needs to be checked. If, for instance, the result was an actual increase of 16%, then the originally entered value in the Actual % increase field must be changed to 16. If you do not change the value, the forecast will be updated by 10% and not by 16%, which is the actual value. For more information, see About working with sales promotion adjustments.
